Man United to compete with Real Madrid for Jarrad Branthwaite

Manchester United are looking to improve their defensive unit and they have identified Jarrad Branthwaite as a target.

According to a report from Planeta Real Madrid, the Spanish giants are keen on signing the 22-year-old Everton defender as well and they will face competition from Manchester United.

Both clubs could use defensive reinforcements and Branthwaite would be a quality long-term acquisition for them. He has proven himself to be a reliable defender in the Premier League and he has the quality to succeed in La Liga as well.

The report states that Manchester United will do everything in their power to get the deal done and Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is now worried about missing out on the player. It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid can submit a lucrative proposal for the defender and get the deal done. They need to bring in quality alternatives to players like Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba. Signing a talented young defender like Branthwaite would be a superb long-term investment for them.

Where will Jarrad Branthwaite end up?

Real Madrid are widely regarded as the biggest club in the world and the opportunity to play for them can be quite tempting for most players. It would not be a surprise if the 22-year-old is attracted to the idea of moving to Santiago Bernabeu in the summer of 2025.

It remains to be seen whether Manchester United can convince him to turn down a move to Spain and continue in the Premier League instead. Manchester United are one of the biggest clubs in the world as well. However, they are not at the level required to win major trophies and the young defender might prefer to join a club capable of winning major trophies.

It remains to be seen where he ends up.
