Erik ten Hag’s future may be less clouded than some might suspect amid reports of a potential summer exit at Manchester United.
The Dutchman is understood to have been the subject of internal discussions at Bayern Munich over the soon-to-be-vacant head coach’s position, according to Bundesliga insider Christian Falk.
“Erik ten Hag is on the list. He’s working for Manchester United currently but no one knows if he’ll still be in the job come the summer. He has been discussed internally,” the head of football at the BILD Group told CaughtOffside.
The Red Devils find themselves sixth in the league table, 13 points short of fourth-placed Aston Villa and the Champions League spots.

Ten Hag’s successful spell with Ajax should give any potential suitor a clear indication of how to ensure the 54-year-old can thrive.
Near total control is required at the former Utrecht manager’s next club – a situation many rightly can’t imagine happening at a club like Bayern Munich where a multiplicity of operators have a say in how the club is run.
Surprises can occur in football, of course. The longer the search drags on for a Tuchel replacement – after Ralf Rangnick was the third manager to turn down the job – the more desperate the Champions League hopefuls will become.
It’s a space worth watching should Manchester United opt to part company with Ten Hag in favour of a total reboot under fresh ownership.
