Rio Ferdinand believes that the club will back Erik ten Hag after some reports suggested his job was in jeopardy after the Sir Jim Ratcliffe investment.
Manchester United have struggled in their opening games of the season, unable to really settle into the rhythm that saw them do so well last campaign.
They currently sit 8th in the league after beating Sheffield United at the weekend and are bottom of their Champions League group.
Ten Hag has come under some considerable criticism for the team’s poor performances with reports suggesting that he could be replaced.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Ferdinand gave his thoughts on the matter and believes that Ten Hag should feel secure in his position.
“There’s going to be work to be done behind the scenes, they’ve got to do a lot of due diligence to work out what needs changing and what doesn’t.” he said via Manchester Evening News.
“It’s a big job but I’m sure he [Ratcliffe] understands that. There’s no way he’s [Ten Hag] under any pressure. They’ve backed him, he’s still got a lot of time to go on and try and achieve something big at the club.”
